Dissertation

Shruti graduated from the Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi, India and majored in Political Science. She also completed a course in Conflict Transformation and Peace Building from the Aung San Suu Kyi Centre for Peace at Delhi University. Thereafter, she made a shift to the public policy space- working as Legislative Assistant to a Member of the Indian Parliament. Following this, she worked for over two years as a policy researcher at SaveLIFE Foundation, a non-profit working to improve Road Safety and Emergency Care in India.

Shruti’s thesis was placed in the erstwhile Soviet Union during and post the October Revolution. Through the literary works of Alexandra Kollontai and Boris Pasternak, Shruti tried to de-code how literature was used to critique the excesses of the Soviet regime. Shruti’s interests are varied and range from the position of women in mass based movements to ancient Greek philosophy.

As a life goal, she hopes to find a merging point where she can use her theoretical and academic derivations to empower the marginalized sections of society. Shruti’s indulgences are watching films, penning reviews and writing her own screenplays. She also intends to explore the stand-up comedy space for herself soon.
