I graduated from The College of William and Mary where I majored in History with a minor in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. My main interests are South Asian history, and in particular cultural history and developments in the post-colonial states of India and Pakistan.
For my undergraduate honors thesis I focused on the lives and work of women involved with the Progressive Writers’ Association and how their writings illuminated not only women’s role in South Asian culture, but also the formation of nationalism and the idea of the nation-state. I hope to continue my research on intellectual movements and post-colonial South Asian history at Columbia and LSE.
