Keyang graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History and minoring in Art History. During her undergraduate studies, Keyang became interested in the history of higher education for women as well as the history of the Chinese diaspora in the United States. For her senior thesis, Keyang looked into the experiences of Chinese women students in American institutions of higher education in the mid-twentieth century. Keyang’s thesis also allowed her to explore various other ideas, including gendered experiences of immigration, war, and mobility.
At Columbia and LSE, Keyang hopes to dive deeper into the phenomenon of Chinese women in American higher education and study this topic with different approaches. In particular, she is looking forward to examining the connection between educational exchange and foreign policy.
