Jakob VanLeeuwen's research interests include U.S. political history, diplomatic history, and the Cold War. He is particularly interested in U.S.-Latin American relations and has spent considerable time in Mexico, El Salvador, and Colombia. As a graduate student, he explored modernization as a foreign policy and the social impact of educational programs in Latin America. Jakob is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in history.
