Hunter graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a double major in History and Political Science. His undergraduate honors thesis entitled “Transitional Justice and Nation Building in Post-Apartheid South Africa” focused on the construction of national ideology and the development of a cohesive sense of justice in the post-Apartheid state.

His major research interests center on Africa, Asia, and the Middle East in particular the relationships that define our international system. He hopes to continue this vein of inquiry while studying both at Columbia and LSE, focusing on the construction of national identity as well as how these identities shape interstate relations.
