After the Columbia-LSE M.A./M.Sc. program, Francis Russo earned a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2025. He continues to pursue work on early and nineteenth-century American history and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
