Ellen holds a BA from American University in International Relations, where she studied histories of US policymaking in Latin America. After graduation, she worked as a FOIA analyst for the Department of Homeland Security in its data and privacy department.

Her interests in research and government transparency led her to apply to the program, where she focused on histories of democracy, government power, and citizenship during the Cold War.

Currently, Ellen works as a regulatory and compliance analyst in London at Neudata, a fintech firm that specializes in sourcing financial data. After working for several years on its editorial team, she decided to transition to policy and regulatory work. She is excited to begin to research the increasingly complex global regulatory frameworks around technology and data.

When she’s not working, Ellen enjoys running, writing, and drinking coffee.
