Born to a father from Kuala Lumpur and a mother from Penang and Singapore, Dana’s passion for international history stemmed from her experience living in 12 countries on four continents. After graduation, she was a columnist for Mic, covering entertainment news from New York City, before relocating to Taipei, Taiwan, where, as a features reporter, she wrote about art, food, travel, culture and social issues for the English-language newspaper, the Taipei Times. Since going freelance, Dana has filed stories from five continents for in-flight magazines, luxury travel magazines, websites and tourism bureaus and written travel guidebooks for Louis Vuitton City Guides, Marriott Hotels and DestinAsian magazine. She’s the author of the upcoming cookbook of recipes by Malaysia’s first female Michelin-star chef, Beh Gaik Lean, of Auntie Gaik Lean’s Old School Eatery in Penang. Dana splits her time between Singapore/Malaysia and Stockholm, Sweden.
