Originally a Washington DC native, Allison Bailey graduated with honors in 2015 from the University of St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland in English Literature and Modern History. This past year she has been completing a Masters in Gender Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
Her SOAS Masters dissertation consisted of an in-depth analysis of Palestinian female suicide bombers and Israeli settler women in the West Bank. Her interests include feminist law, diaspora studies, and Middle Eastern feminisms, among many others. She plans on pursuing her work with Middle Eastern female narratives and expanding her horizons at Columbia with her first time at an American university.
