Dissertation

Jean-Louis Stassen grew up in the Netherlands and Belgium. He graduated from New York University with a BA in Economics (2008) and from the University of San Francisco with a BA in History (2010), during which he spent his freshman year in Florence, Italy. At Columbia and LSE, his research interests focused on Global Conflict Studies, with his dissertation revolving around the role of the Dutch political position prior and during intervention in Bosnia in the 1990s. After graduating, Jean-Louis worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands at the embassy in Berlin, Germany and the European Parliament in Brussels, Brussels. Currently, he is active in the field of risk management for the commodities sector.
