Daniel Wertz

Dissertation

A native of upstate New York, Daniel received his Bachelor's Degree in History from Wesleyan University in 2008. As a student at Columbia and LSE, his research interests focused on American colonialism in the Philippines and the development of modern US foreign policy. He was awarded the Richard Hofstadter Prize in 2010 for his dissertation linking the origins of international narcotics control to American anti-opium policies in the colonial Philippines in the early twentieth century. Daniel currently works in Washington, D.C. as a Program Officer at the National Committee on North Korea.
