Yesenia Sanchez is the Policy & Research Senior Program Associate for the Latinos & Society Program at the Aspen Institute. Here, she plays a key role in advancing research and digital equity for underserved communities across the United States.

Her journey with the Aspen Institute began as a Research Intern at the end of her studies at the London School of Economics. While at Columbia University, Yesenia also gained valuable experience as a History Intern for NASA's Office of the Chief Scientist. Her MA/MSc thesis explored the 1917 Bath Riots, a commitment to understanding the impact of militarization at the southern US border.

Yesenia graduated cum laude from Saint Louis University with a double major in French and International Studies, and minors in Political Science and Women & Gender Studies. Her academic excellence was recognized with several honors, including the James D. Collins Award for Academic Excellence and a publication in her university's journal, which focused on analyzing media discourse and policies related to the 2015 "migrant crisis."

Most importantly, Yesenia is driven by her experiences as a child of immigrants and is passionate about migrant advocacy. In her spare time, she enjoys discovering new culinary experiences.
