I graduated from UCL in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Politics and Economics, specialising in the history of the Enlightenment in my final year. My undergraduate dissertation, The Making of the Scythe—Observations on Serfdom in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth 1749-1791, examines the reform plans for the peasantry in the last years of the Commonwealth before it was swallowed up by its powerful neighbours. Focusing on the foreign gaze of the francophone world of philosophes and physiocrats, it seeks to trace the diffusion of political and economic thought amid the interplay between conceptual ideas and socio-political reality.
My current research interests include social history and the history of ideas in the long 18th century. At Columbia and the LSE, I hope to further pursue these interests and improve my language skills.
