I am a historian specializing in environmental history, food history, and the history of science in colonial and post-colonial South Asia. My research explores the intersections of politics, agronomic knowledge, diets, and environmental resilience, with a focus on resource distribution and public health during times of crisis.
I completed my MA/MSc in International and World History at Columbia University and the London School of Economics in 2024. My thesis examined how interwar economic uncertainties and agrarian change reshaped rice diets and food ecologies in southern India between 1920 and 1940. My current research builds on this work by exploring the intimate connections between rice ecologies and the production of nutritional and developmental knowledge in colonial and post-colonial India.
I also hold an MA in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University (2021) and am currently a doctoral candidate at Columbia University.
Before entering academia, I worked as a journalist and digital content producer in Kerala, India, reporting on politics, education, defense, and the environment.
