Victor Wei Chung Hsu

Dissertation

Victor was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, and holds a B.A. in History from Grinnell College. He has traveled extensively and is interested in transnational and regional interactions. He is especially concerned with issues of modernization, cultural and national identity, and the future trajectory of the “Asian Century.” He is committed to the practical application of history and research methods, in both private and public sectors.

After graduation from Columbia/LSE, Victor worked at Jardine Lloyd Thompson as a risk management analyst focusing on corporate and insurance clients. He currently works at Marsh and Mclennan’s London office as a credit ratings advisor and consultant focusing on insurance firms.

His secondary interests include military warfare, ancient/medieval and culinary history. In his spare time, Victor enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and loves to eat.
