Trevor Gowan

Trevor Gowan works as a communications strategist and creative storyteller at the intersection of climate justice, human rights and education. He has worked with organizations including UNICEF, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the United Nations Department of Global Communications, Cornell Tech, Mashable, and the U.S. Department of State.

During his time at Columbia University and the London School of Economics & Political Science, he worked as the first research manager for the archival research project focused on Columbia University’s connection to slavery with Professor Eric Foner, writing a 15,000-word guide to archival collections for the new undergraduate course, while his other academic research interests included the history of UN Peacekeeping, American foreign policy, and cultural diplomacy.
