Thalia Ertman grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C., and received her undergraduate degrees in History and Chinese Language from the University of Southern California in 2014. After completing the dual MA/MSc in International History from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and Political Science, she worked as a historical researcher for documentary filmmaker Aviva Kempner, working on her upcoming film on the baseball player turned nuclear spy, Moe Berg. In March of 2018, Thalia started her current job as the Public Education Officer at the Friends of the National World War II Memorial (Friends) in Washington, D.C. Friends is a non-profit that plans, stages, and funds programming surrounding the WWII Memorial, including commemorations, speaker series, and conferences. As the Public Education Officer, Thalia plans and puts on all of Friends' educational programming, including their annual Teachers Conference for educators who cover WWII in the classroom.
