Taylor Kaye West

Hello, my name is Taylor West. I grew up in Southern Minnesota and then moved to Texas following my high school graduation. Pursuing a dual major in History and English, I attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, where I obtained my B.A. degree in December 2023.

My academic interests involve economics, intellectual, law, and transitional history, with a specific focus on the Middle East, Ottoman Empire, and Balkans.

Throughout my enrollment in this dual degree program, I hope to delve deeper into the realm of transitional history within the late Ottoman Empire, particularly within the diverse borderlands of the Balkans, exploring the interplay of identities that shape this multifaceted region. Furthermore, I hope to refine my skills in research and languages to enhance the quality of my scholarly pursuits.

During my free time, I love to travel, read and analyze literature, write, bake, and watch movies.
