Ryan Musto

Dissertation

Hailing from Berkeley, California, Ryan holds a BA with honors in history from NYU. He has lived in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, where he taught international history and English to middle and high school students.  In the CU-LSE dual-master’s degree program, Ryan’s research focused on the Cold War and international security in Latin America.  In the summer of 2010 he participated in Columbia’s first annual Hertog Global Strategy Initiative, through which he performed research for his thesis on nuclear nonproliferation in Latin America. Ryan is currently a PhD student in history at The George Washington University studying the history of US foreign policy and nuclear weapons.
