Rohan is a doctoral student in international history at Columbia University. He works on the global history of the neoliberal turn in the 1970s, and is broadly interested in the social history of economic ideas, twentieth-century international society, and postcolonial intellectual history. He is also the coordinator of History in Action, a program dedicated to increasing the impact of historical research outside the academy.

Originally from Nairobi, Rohan completed his BA in History and Politics at UC Santa Cruz before graduating from the MA/MSc International and World History program in 2015, writing his thesis on early Indian foreign policy and the birth of the United Nations. Before beginning the PhD he worked as Project Manager for History Lab, a research collective that uses data science methods to analyze text, and hosts a large online archive of declassified government records.
