Research Interest

Rhea graduated magna cum laude from Haverford College in 2023 with a degree in History. Her undergraduate thesis explored the categories of race and caste relating to the regulation of prostitution in late colonial India.


After graduation, Rhea was selected as a Fulbright-Nehru fellow in Mumbai, India. During her fellowship, she continued her archival research on prostitution concentrating on the moral and social environment of the British colonial government. At Columbia and LSE, Rhea will further investigate the history of gender and sexuality to bring historical perspectives to current gender-based advocacy movements.
