Philippine Van den Brande

Dissertation

Before taking up history, Philippine graduated magna cum laude from the universities of Edinburgh and Leuven with a Master in EU and International Law. She has a variety of historical research interests, including international organizations, human rights, feminism and 20th century Europe. Her Master’s project provides an insight into the formative years of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, from approximately 1945 to 1952.

In addition to pursuing a passion for long-distance running, Philippine attempts to brush up her German and Spanish in her free time.
