Patrick Flaherty

Dissertation

Patrick Flaherty was born in Brooklyn and still lives there. He earned his Associate’s degree from Kingsborough Community College in 2012 and his Bachelor’s degree from CUNY Hunter in 2016 with a double major in history and sociology. His undergraduate thesis focused on how several U.S. marxist political parties viewed the Unidad Popular coalition which held executive power in Chile from 1970-1973. For the past several years he has worked at an independent bookstore in Brooklyn.

His research interests include the history of the Cold War, radical political histories of the left and the right, social history, 20th century US history, Russian and Soviet history, German history, British and Irish history, the history of subcultures and historic geopolitics.
