Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Nicholas Natzke received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2020 in Political Science and Middle Eastern / North African Studies. In 2022, he pursued a Fulbright Scholarship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he became interested in modern Mongolian society and history. At Columbia and the LSE, Nicholas passed the proficiency exam for French language and took a rigorous Mongolian language program during the summer. Under the guidance of Dr. Morris Rossabi and Professor Vladislav Zubok, he further immersed himself in understanding the history of the Cold War, global economic liberalization in the 1990s, and the development of democracy in Mongolia. Currently, Nicholas works as a consultant for an educational institute, and he intends to continue his scholarship in the future by pursuing a doctorate.
