Nadia-Estelle Fiat moved to the United States in 2011 to attend Duke University, where she received a BA in Cultural Anthropology. As an undergraduate, she was awarded a Global Education Summer Fellowship to conduct fieldwork in Hong Kong on the Parsi community, as well as archival work at the Jardine Matheson & Co. archives in Cambridge, England. Her summer research subsequently turned into an honors thesis on the discourse of crisis in the Parsi diaspora in Hong Kong and beyond.

Nadia’s research interests thus far have included inter-diasporic relations and the British Empire in the Indian Ocean.
