Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Megan graduated from Hamilton College in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in history and a double minor in literature and music. She received departmental honors upon her commencement and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta honors society. During her time at Hamilton, Megan studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh, interned at Macmillan Publishers and Writers House Literary Agency, and served as a campus tour guide for the Hamilton admissions department. After graduating, Megan worked as an Associate Publicist for Penguin Press (an imprint of Penguin Random House) and organized media campaigns for authors such as Michael Kimmelman, Lauren Fleshman, Ava Chin, and Tahir Hamut Izgil (among many others).

Megan’s love of history is a significant part of her identity, beginning with her inexplicable obsession with Eleanor Roosevelt in the third grade. Nowadays, she is interested in the cultural and social history of the British Empire, particularly how consumerism shaped 19th- and 20th- century attitudes regarding imperialism, colonialism, social norms, and nationhood. She is particularly fascinated by subaltern narratives, Foucaudian frameworks, the history of childhood and families, and the evolution of media consumption. Upon completion of her masters, Megan intends to pursue a career in public history.

Megan currently lives in Brooklyn. When she’s not thinking about history, she enjoys singing (she’s sung at Carnegie Hall and the Vatican, among other venues!), working out at her local barre studio, tinkering around in the kitchen, and exploring used bookstores and libraries.
