Kristina graduated from Pace University in New York City with a degree in Sociology/Anthropology in 2011. She minored in East Asian Studies and Francophone Studies. Throughout her undergraduate career she developed an interest for the effects of post-colonialism on former colonized societies in Asia and the Caribbean, as well as, how post-colonialism effects these immigrant groups in the United States.  After graduating, she traveled to Malaysia to teach English and music under a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship.  Through her Tamil and Chinese students, she learned much about the race relations of these two groups with the majority Malay community.  Their experiences in the country have inspired her to continue examining Indians as an immigrant group throughout Southeast Asia, namely Malaysia and Singapore and how their economic, social, and cultural evolution have played major roles in the development of the region.
