I grew up in Beijing, but I have lived in Syracuse, Tokyo, Strasbourg, and Washington DC before NYC. I graduated from Syracuse University in 2016 with a BA in International Relations and a minor in History. During my undergraduate studies, I studied in Strasbourg, France, for a semester with the study abroad program of Syracuse University. Living in Strasbourg allowed me to have a better understanding of European refugee issues. I have learned that language skills are important to have through my experiences. I’m fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese, and currently learning French and Korean. I interned at Global Peace Foundation as an outreach coordinator, where I had the opportunity to attend events of embassies and major think tanks in DC. Meanwhile, I participated in the Maxwell-DC program.
My History senior capstone was about the influences of porcelain trades between China and the Netherlands from the late Seventeenth Century to the early Eighteenth Century. My research interests focus on the China-Japan-Korea trilateral relations and the role that the U.S. plays in the East Asia, and I’m also interested in the influences that Globalization have had on material cultures.
