Dissertation

Jacqueline received a B.A. from The Gallatin School at New York University where she majored in "Individualized Study," which is a long way of saying that she made her own major. She concentrated in Storytelling, Narratives, and the Idea of History. She is very excited to embark on a project that is officially in the discipline of History.

She is from San Diego, but she has lived in New York for four years. During that time, she has worked for the Museum of the City of New York and East Harlem Tutorial Program, both located in East Harlem, otherwise known as "El Barrio."

Her research interests include: Mexican history, indigenous history, and the Spanish language. Her dissertation will focus on the cross-empire migration of slave and non-slave loggers from Belize to Yucatan in the late 1700s.
