Born and raised in Yorktown, Virginia, Edward graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech in 2003. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army and served six years with U.S. Army Special Operations. Upon separation from the military, he served as a Backcountry Ranger with the National Park Service in North Dakota until he was accepted into the CU-LSE Dual Degree Program. While in New York and London, he eventually focused on America's early and covert involvement in Vietnam in the early 1960s, using that involvement as a lens by which to illuminate the U.S. military's later failures in Indochina. Edward now works for the U.S. Forest Service in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
