Research Interest

Having been born in Italy to Albanian parents and grown up in the United States, I've always had an interest in international relations and the impact of distinct cultural and historical contexts on policy making between states. I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in History and Political Science with a minor in American Studies.  My thesis in history explored German foreign policy toward France in the period between the Geneva Disarmament Conference and the Munich Conference, highlighting the progressive loss of deterrence by French policymakers and the increasing international isolation of France by their German rivals.

My research interests primarily focus on foreign policy and international relations in the post-1945 period and include the history of international organizations and multilateral treaties, the Cold War, American diplomatic history, and the social and political pressures on foreign policy.

During my time at Columbia and the LSE I look forward to exploring America's changing involvement with and attitude toward the United Nations within the framework of great power competition against the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
