Daniel Sargent

Dissertation

Daniel Sargent graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA with a B.A. in History. A native of Massachusetts, Daniel served as president of the History Honors society and captain of the Men’s Varsity soccer team.  In addition, he had the opportunity to spend five months in Sevilla, Spain where he came to appreciate Spanish language, history, and culture.  For the past three years, Daniel has also served as a tour guide for the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, a nonprofit organization that provides information to visitors about the origins of the wooden boatbuilding industry in the town of Essex, MA.  Daniel's interests include the impact of Muslim immigration in both Spain and the Netherlands from the 1980s to the present day. He aims to analyze governmental policies, law, and cultural facets in an attempt to understand the impact of Muslim immigrants as they increasingly influence Western European nations.
