I graduated with a BA in Sociology from Wellesley College in 2020, where I studied social policy and wrote an honors thesis on the impacts of reentry services on formerly incarcerated women. I worked within policy and business research fields, working out of the National Journal followed by Insider. In addition, I grew to expand my own attempts within literary criticism and published for places such as Literary Hub, Harvard Review, and more. I am dedicated to gaining a stronger background in history, in order to be able to further pursue questions around how political entities have impacted cultural institutions.
I hope to pursue the study of social and cultural history, especially in the post-1945 period and piece together how political forces swayed the culture in the context of the Cold War. I am also interested in studying the time period through a critical feminist lens, and understand how women contributed to the field at the time.
My favorite authors are Clarice Lispector, Hannah Arendt, Carol Shields and Susan Sontag.
