Bianca Bibolet graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in History. Her undergraduate thesis, “El que se enoja, pierde”: Domestic Battery and The Law in the Northern Frontier of Colonial Mexico, examines how battered wives utilized gossip and feminine social networks to mobilize local authorities to their defense. Whilst earning her undergraduate degree, she discovered her love for historical and archival conservation during her time at the Palestine Exploration Fund in London. After graduating in the Spring of 2024, she continued her work in historical conservation at the Heritage Museum of Orange County where she focused on preserving women’s history during the early 20th century. She was also an active volunteer working with Junior Achievement to educate children about various education and career paths.
Bianca is passionate about delving further into the intersectionality between women’s and legal history through the lens of financial corruption, sexual assault, domestic abuse, and bigamy. At Columbia University and LSE, Bianca intends to research women’s lives through their contact with law during the colonial period of Latin America and the Caribbean. She also looks forward to exploring new opportunities to engage in historical conservation in New York City and London.
