Research Interest

I graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of Iceland in 2022. During my undergraduate studies I focused on coursework relating to gender history and transitional justice processes, and participated in a student exchange to Humboldt University in Berlin. My undergraduate thesis focused on Icelandic nation-branding during the 1986 Reykjavík summit, between U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, and examined how Icelandic national identity was influenced by neoliberalism in the 1980s more broadly.

I am interested in researching grassroots movements, gender in transitional justice systems, female-led peace building processes, and summits as a diplomatic space. At Columbia and LSE, I hope to explore these topics through an international lens, focusing mainly on the late 20th century.
