Noah Lagoe was born and raised in a rural town in Southern California, within driving distance of San Diego. His academic journey began with the intention of becoming a high school teacher, however he fell in love with comparative historical analysis during his undergraduate studies at San Diego State University. His interest in comparative and global history was sparked through research regarding South, Southeast, and East Asia, and the academic discourse surrounding the ethics of Western dictation of their histories. He graduated from San Diego State University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences - Social Science, with a focus on education.
