Research Interest

I am from St. Louis, Missouri and graduated with honors from Washington University in 2023 with a major in History and minors in Sociology and Writing. For my senior honors thesis I focused on the St. Louis rent strike in 1969, which led to national reform in federally-funded public housing. Through oral histories and archival research, I explored how Black mothers living in squalid conditions embraced activism to effect change, using both the law and the media to focus attention on the failures of public housing. In my junior year, I studied basic Czech and Eastern European history in Prague through Charles University. I focused my research there on student resistance in Prague during the Prague Spring and the events following. This past year, I taught English Language Arts to 7th and 8th graders through Teach for America at a charter school in south Dorchester, a suburb of Boston. I specialized in aiding students with disabilities to acclimate to the classroom and enhance their ability to learn.

I hope to focus my research area around social movements spurred by conservative societal pressures.
