Kristen received her BA in 2006 from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she studied International Business. In the summer of 2005, she received a Boeing Scholarship to fund her research on infrastructure development in China at the Kenan Institute Center for Air Commerce. After working for three years in the private sector, Kristen entered the Columbia University / LSE International and World History dual degree program. In the summer of 2010, she received a FLAS Scholarship to study Chinese in Beijing, where she also had the opportunity to conduct archival research. Kristen’s dissertation focused on the McMahon Line and the China-India frontier region. She is now a Application Support Analyst at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
