Candy is a journalist based in New York City. She graduated from Barnard College with a degree in History and a concentration in War and Revolution. Her undergraduate thesis explored the climate of American journalism during the Second World War and examined how the events of that time period ultimately defined the freedom of the press.
After graduating in 2021, Candy worked as an intern at The New Republic and ABC News. She is a lover of long-form journalism where her skills as a historian help to enrich her writing. As a candidate in the program, Candy is excited to learn more about her roots through the history of China-Vietnam relations.
