Research Interest

I double-majored in History and Government at Smith College and graduated with my B.A. in 2019. While at Smith, I played squash and field hockey and was an All-American in field hockey my senior year. I am interested broadly in a combination of political theory and history, and more specifically in revolutions and radical movements in the 19th and 20th century. Much of my work has been focused on history through the lens of class, race, and gender and groups and movements formed around the same. In my approach to history, I enjoy analyzing political texts in the context of the movements which were inspiration for, and inspired by, their content; I believe in the importance of taking people on their own terms as a starting point. My interests have been more thematic and temporal than geographic, but my studies have focused on the US and Latin America. Since graduating, I have worked in fields not related to these subjects at all and I am very excited to return to history! I hope to further explore my interest in revolutions and radical movements with a tentative focus on the global "long 60s."

In my free time I enjoy watching movies, reading and writing (fiction!), baking/cooking, watching soccer, playing tennis, and flânerie.
