I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with an Master of Arts in History with Honors. I also spent a year abroad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I was a reporter for the City & State section of the Daily Tar Heel.
During my undergraduate studies I wrote my thesis about ‘The “Not So Terrible Turk”: American Silence Over the Armenian Genocide and Relations with Turkey from 1923 to 1960’. At the University of Edinburgh I also took classes on Soviet Internationalism and Colonial Wars and modernizing missions. I hope to dig deeper into these areas and explore how they intersect with minority culture and representation.
After graduating, I deferred my acceptance for a year. In the meantime, I obtained the CELTA degree which grants you the ability to teach English as a foreign language. I started working as an English tutor upon obtaining my certificate and also completed an accelerated culinary course.
