Language Requirement:

Students can fulfill the language requirement of the dual Master's degree in three different ways:

1) By taking two years of language training while at Columbia and the London School of Economics.

2) By taking, and passing, two translation exams. (Both translation exams must be taken at Columbia. See sample translation exams at http://www.columbia.edu/cu/history/graduate/main/exams/index.html.)

 3) By taking, and passing, one translation exam and studying a language for one year, either at Columbia or at the LSE Language Center.
